Blue Ridge Motion Is Bringing Parkour to Auburn High School in Riner
This Friday, October 23, the Blue Ridge Motion coaches are visiting Auburn High School in Riner for a live parkour demonstration. We’ll also run an introductory parkour session where students can join in and try it out.
Parkour is about overcoming the obstacles in your environment by adapting how you move to them: vaulting, climbing, balancing, jumping and landing safely. Getting from point A to point B is part of it, but the heart of parkour is learning to read your surroundings and find your way through them. Students at the demo will see what that looks like up close. Then they’ll learn the basics the same way every Blue Ridge Motion student starts, beginning with how to fall and land safely.
What students will try
- Safe landings and rolls, the foundation of everything else
- Vaults over obstacles, starting simple and building up
- Balance and precision drills that build focus and body control
- Climbing and wall skills, the ninja-style moves teens love
No experience is needed. Every student starts as a beginner and goes at their own pace.
For Riner families: keep it going
If your teen comes home talking about parkour, we’d love to help them keep growing. Blue Ridge Motion runs teen parkour and tumbling classes for ages 13 to 17 on weekday evenings, a short drive from Riner and Auburn. Certified coaches build on what your teen wants to learn, whether that’s flips, vaults or wall runs, one safe step at a time.
The Auburn family offer: book a trial class, and if your teen loves it and joins, their training shoes and Blue Ridge Motion shirt are free.

Younger kids want in too?
We also run parkour and tumbling classes for ages 4 to 8 and ages 9 to 15. These are high-energy, ninja-style classes where kids build strength, confidence and coordination with qualified coaches in every class.
Thank you to Auburn High School for having us. See you Friday!
