Blue Ridge Motion Joins Connection Counts at Floyd County High School
This November, Blue Ridge Motion is proud to be a community partner in Connection Counts, a free family and community event series at Floyd County High School. It runs every Monday in November from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, and all students, families and siblings are welcome.
Connection Counts is hosted by Communities In Schools of Appalachian Highlands and the FCHS Leadership Club. The goal is to bring students, families, school staff and community members together to connect, have fun, give back and celebrate our community. Every night has free food and treats, kids’ activities, games and family fun.
We love that students are leading the way. Leadership Club members are helping plan and run the evenings: welcoming guests, leading activities and working with community partners. That’s the same kind of leadership we build into every Blue Ridge Motion class.
Nights 1 and 2: take the balance challenge
Monday, November 2: Welcome, Give Thanks & Connect
Monday, November 9: Heroes & Community
Stop by our booth and see how long you can balance on our precision rails. It’s harder than it looks, and it’s a fun way to test your focus and body control. Kids, teens and grown-ups are all welcome to give it a try.
Night 3: a parkour demo you can join
Monday, November 16: Move, Play & Connect
This health-focused night is all about movement, wellness, teamwork and family fun, and it’s our big night. Our coaches will run a live demonstration of what a Blue Ridge Motion class looks like, then invite everyone to jump in and try it. We start the same way every student does: learning to fall and land safely, then building up to vaults, balance and climbing. No experience needed.
Scan, don’t carry
We’re keeping it simple and paper-light. At our booth you’ll find a flyer with a QR code. Scan it to see class times for your child’s age and book a trial class right there, or leave your number and we’ll call you with any questions.
Try a class for $30. Love it and join? Their training shoes and Blue Ridge Motion shirt are free with membership.
